SAVO's CRB Disclosure Checking Service
Whilst we operate a postal application system for organisations who have signed umbrella agreements with SAVO, we also offer a personal application system for those organisations who would prefer their forms to be checked by a fully trained member of SAVO’s staff.
Whilst the personal application system attracts a small additional fee, it takes the worry out of completing the form and removes the potential for delays which will occur if a form has to be returned to you for correction. The personal application service is available at our Ipswich office, but if there is sufficient demand, we can offer it at other locations in the county.
Due to the additional work involved if a form is incorrectly completed and has to be returned for correction, we have introduced a small charge.
Members of SAVO enjoy a discounted rate for the service.
If your organisation has signed an umbrella agreement, the details are held on file and we work through the named contact within your organisation.

Why might you want to carry out CRB Disclosure checks? 
Protecting vulnerable people is about identifying, assessing, managing and controlling risk. If your organisation works with or for these people then it is undoubtedly good practice to check the records of volunteers, staff and trustees who will be working with children and vulnerable adults. Given the millions of people working, or volunteering in the voluntary sector and the reported number of incidents, the risk is not large - but it is very significant.
You and your organisation need to be in the position of saying, ‘'We did everything we could to prevent …' and more importantly, by having checks and systems and controls, you will hopefully never be in a position to have to account for your people.
