Tools for the VCS

This section is full of resources and information for staff, trustees and volunteers working within the voluntary and community sector.

  • Being Green  ( 1 items )

Suffolk is working towards “Creating the Greenest County", which means that individuals and organisations are being urged to think about how they can help in meaning this vision.

As a voluntary organisation or community group, it is important to at least think about how you can operate in a ‘greener way’, not only for creating a better environment, but it could help you save money and make your staff and volunteer’s working conditions better. We are increasingly hearing from funders that not having a ‘green policy’ in place leads to a lower score when they are judging funding applications for grants and tenders.

  • The Life of a Voluntary or Community Organisation  ( 9 items )

The lifespan of a VCS organisationThis section sets out some of the key information and areas that a typical voluntary or community organisation will have to deal with during its lifetime, such as finance, staff, trustees, ICT.. We can also signpost to relevant resources and other specialist organisations that offer help and advice.

  • Model Policies and Procedures  ( 2 items )
