Training
A wide range of courses are run throughout the county on many subjects from first aid to speaking and presentation skills to volunteer management and as a member you benefit from a discount on fees of up to 20%. Your organisation can also enjoy discounts on toolkits for policies and procedures, staff management, self evaluation and health and safety.
CD-ROMs
- Toolkits - information sheets and policy documents on many subjects including recruitment and selection, appraisal, event organisation and many more.
- Diversity on the Agenda– aims to introduce, support and help individuals and organisations to gain an understanding of how diversity can improve your organisation’s services and volunteering/working environment – members can claim a free copy (otherwise £5).
Vollies and Members’ Briefing
- These publications are each produced three times a year and include a wide range of articles and information relevant to voluntary sector organisations. Members Briefing only goes to members. Members are entitled to discounts on advertisements placed in these publications.
Hire of equipment and rooms
- Overhead projectors, PowerPoint projector, display boards, flip charts etc are available for hire on a daily or longer basis.
- A room is available for hire in our Ipswich office which will seat 12 people boardroom style. SAVO members get a discount on the hire of all our resources.
Website
- SAVO’s website at www.savo.co.uk is packed with information about what SAVO has to offer you. It’s updated regularly and so is worth revisiting to see what’s new. Members can interact and offer their opinions on vital issues.
CRB Disclosures
- SAVO operates as an umbrella organisation for CRB Disclosure checks for people working with children and vulnerable adults and members benefit from discounted prices.
Resource Shop
- Members benefit from a 10% discount on a wide range of books published by the Directory of Social Change who are the UK’s leading publisher of specialist charity books.

- By combining together members of the Association have an influential and respected voice.
Voting Rights
- It is the members’ right and responsibility to nominate and elect SAVO's Trustees and make the key decisions at SAVO General Meetings.
