Expectations of our Members PDF Print E-mail

Expectations of membershipIf you decide to join the Suffolk Association of Voluntary Organisations, please note we have the following expectations of members. SAVO’s Trustee Board does not view these as a requirement for membership, but feels that they are matters organisations joining SAVO ought to consider adopting.

Subscribe to SAVO’s vision of a fully engaged voluntary sector working to address all forms of disadvantage and to improve the quality of life in Suffolk.

To consider, and offer, what contribution your organisation can make to the Association.

Send SAVO a copy of your Annual Report each year.
Why? Because we need to know what you've done and to be able to let others know.

Send a representative to an annual meeting at least every few years.
Why? Because an Association is only as strong as its members. SAVO's track record is firmly founded on the hard work and commitment of groups like yours.

To promote equality of opportunity within your organisation and its work.
Why? SAVO’s equal opportunities policy states: "equality of opportunity is an adopted policy of SAVO and one we actively encourage members to address".

To respond to "must do" surveys sent by SAVO.
Why? To ensure that we respond to your needs and represent your views.

To join an appropriate local forum or council.
Why? The most effective network of self help and co-operation is at a local level. SAVO support for this is one of the Trustees' highest priorities.

To appoint a designated contact to receive SAVO's mailings etc.
Why? To ensure information gets to the right people within your group.
