(PDF 177KB) Minority Ethnic Community Action Network (MECAN) Project report The findings of the MECAN consultation were presented in a report on 10th December 2007 at Kesgrave Community Centre to the BME and faith groups and infrastructure Organisations (the partners of One Voice Suffolk) who were asked to take part in the consultation. The aim is to develop the best strategy that will engage all the communities and provide a co-ordinated approach to all BME work in Suffolk. Earlier research has identified that there needs to be a coordinated approach to providing services and support to BME community groups and faith groups in Suffolk. From this report a strategy will be developed which is needed for a co-ordinated approach to happen. This strategy will provide potential data about a network that will allow agencies to share information identify common actions and allow the BME communities and faith groups to be consulted and follow the progress of the consultations and service developments.
